Homestead Days at Fort Zumwalt Park

Begin your visit with a guided tour of the historic Heald Home and Zumwalt's Fort and discover what daily life was really like for early settlers—long before running water, electricity, or grocery stores! After the tour, roll up your sleeves and try your hand at real homestead chores. Guests can help fetch water, hang and fold laundry, gather firewood, milk the cow, and collect eggs—just like children and families would have done years ago. It’s a fun, hands-on way to experience history in action!
Guided tours and homestead chore activities are included with the cost of admission.
