Independent Bookstore Day is Saturday, April 25! We're celebrating with bookstores across the country -- sharing what makes our small independent bookstore special. We have a day of fun planned and you don't want to miss any of it! We're starting the day with a Book Hunt! Different from previous years, we're enlisting our brigade of Book Elves to help us hide hundreds of books for all ages around the area.
Beginning at 9 am, visit our Facebook page for pictures to help find the books! Head to the bookstore backyard at 10 for our Missouri animal extravaganza -- Missouri Department of Conservation will be here with their Mammal Education Trunk and author Carolyn Mueller Kelley will share her new book Amazing Missouri Animals. Crafts, activities -- even flash tattoos!
Ready to commit to a fine line book tattoo? Local artist Mel Grim will be in the bookstore from 12-3 offering flash tattoos for $50! Find the Libro.fm Golden Ticket at 1 pm and earn yourself a year of audiobooks! Kick off your Missouri Indie Bookshop Tour at Neighborhood Reads! We'll have passports, official 2026 stickers, and the chance to create your own custom passport covers!
