University City Summer Band Concert Series

Grab a lawn chair, grab a blanket! Join us for free, live outdoor music performed by a summer concert band in Heman Park! The U City Summer Band--now in its 30th season--presents family-friendly concerts, performing light classics, marches, patriotic music, show tunes, popular music, jazz, transcriptions, and original music for band. The band is under the direction of music director/conductor Danny Lewis. Broad themes for the concerts: June 9 (On the Move!), June 16 (HS Student Night), June 23 (Home), July 7 (30th Anniversary Celebration), July 14 (Christmas in July), and July 21 (Broadway Hits). Note there is no concert on June 30. Concerts are held at our beautiful outdoor venue in Heman Park, 1028 Midland Blvd, University City, MO 63130 (park entrance is off Midland Blvd, opposite Shaftesbury Ave). All concerts start at 7 p.m., last about 60 minutes, and include a short intermission. Seating is on the lawn and some benches are available. There is shade under the trees.
