Fishing Derby at Tiemeyer Park

“Reel it in!” The fish are hungry and they are ready to play. We’re thrilled to invite you to join us again this year as St. Ann & Overland sponsor another exciting Fishing Derby!
We’d love to see kids ages 3 to 16 and seniors 62 and above come out and have some fun with us on October 11th at St. Ann’s Tiemeyer Park, Gendron Lake, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. And the best part? It’s completely free!
Starting August 11th, register in person at St. Ann Community Center, 1 Community Center Dr., OR at the Overland Community Center 9225 Lackland Rd. Registration is also available online through the City of Overland Park & Recreation Program Registration Page. Follow the link or see the QR code on the flyer. Be one of the first 200 to pre-register and you’ll receive a complimentary goody bag upon arrival.
There will be 4 age divisions again this year. One pole, one hook. Must be able to cast and land your own fish. Some Bait provided. You must provide your own stringer, pole & hook. Check out the library’s urban fishing program, where you can check out a pole at select locations!
Plus, if you have any new or used sports gear—like cleats, bats, or gloves—bring them along to donate to STL Youth, who are partnering with us again this year.
