Dr. Kelly M. Byrd is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and a passionate advocate for family literacy in the Black community. She earned her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing her research on African-American family literacy traditions. Dr. Byrd founded "Love for Literacy," a program dedicated to highlighting the significance of Black family literacy experiences in children's development.
