Winter has many challenges for birds. Watching our familiar backyard birds can show us a lot of the story. Some of our summer friends are missing. Where did they go? Some new birds are around our feeders. Where did they come from? What do our year-round birds eat when the summer's flowers and insects are gone? How do all these birds survive the cold and the winter storms? How do they avoid predators when the bare tree branches can't hide them? And how can we help? In this program we will make some different kinds of suet feeders to take home. This program is designed for participants ages 6-10, but all are welcome.
