Missouri's Caves at Mastodon State Historic Site

Mark your calendars! We are partnering with local spelunking organizations - the National Speleological Society's Meramec Valley & SEMO Grottos - to host a fun and educational event about the caves.
On Saturday, January 11, from 2-4 p.m., representatives from these organizations will be on-site with informational tables and activities. You'll have the opportunity to learn about cave formations, cave mapping, spelunking safety, and more. We'll have a "batty" craft available, and you can try your hand at making rock art. You can even put your spelunking skills to the test by crawling through a squeeze box!
AND we'll be offering FREE ADMISSION to the museum during the program, so be sure to check out the rest of the exhibits while you're here!
Missouri's Caves is a drop-in program; visitors can stop by any time between 2 and 4 p.m. The program will take place in the museum auditorium. All ages are welcome at this event. Craft activities are available while supplies last.
