University City Summer Band Concert Series

Grab a lawn chair, grab a blanket! Join us for free, live, outdoor music performed by a summer concert band in Heman Park! The U City Summer Band presents family-friendly concerts, performing light classics, marches, patriotic music, show tunes, popular music, jazz, and original music for the band. Over 80 volunteer musicians make up the complete roster of the UCity Summer Band with 60-70 performing at each concert. The band has been under the direction of Danny Lewis since 2023. Season highlights include special guest Thomas Jöstlein of SLSO (June 11), HS student night (June 18), patriotic concert (June 25), John Williams night (July 9), Royal Lancers Drumline (July 16), season finale (July 23).
Concerts are held at our venue in Heman Park, 1028 Midland Blvd, University City, MO 63130 (park entrance is off Midland, opposite Shaftesbury). All concerts start at 7 PM, last about 60 minutes, and include a short intermission. Seating is on the lawn. There is some shade for the audience (beneath the trees). There is a nearby playground and restrooms.
