What is GBBC?
The 23rd annual Great Backyard Bird Count is a citizen science event that anyone is invited to participate in from February 14th-17th. The purpose of this event is to show communities of all ages that they are able to contribute to scientific data collection used by researchers all over the world. These counts help scientists understand the abundance and distribution of bird species across the nation. Community members can create a real-time snapshot of where birds are together just by counting birds in a backyard for a short 15 minutes. Learn more about this annual event at http://gbbc.birdcount.org/
