Washington University School of Medicine is seeking participants for their NeuCorE+ (Neural Correlates of Excitability and Irritability) study.
This study is researching how kids aged 7 to 10 manage their emotions. Kids will participate in an brain imaging session where they will play games inside a kid-friendly MRI machine and will get a real picture of their brain to take home! Kids and parents will also complete surveys about their emotions and parents will take part in virtual interviews.
This study includes 3 visits (~3 hours each):
- Virtual parent interviews
- MRI scan where kids view pictures/videos
- Surveys for parents and children about their emotions
Parents and children will be compensated $25/hour for their participation at visits.
Notes:
- MRI is a safe and non-invasive way to look at the brain without using any radiation. Children will practice in a pretend scanner first.
- Please know, this is not a diagnostic study and participants will not receive a full copy of their MR images
