Hermann is full of attractions to keep the whole family entertained. No matter what you are looking for or what time of year, Hermann has something going on. Whether you want to get out and explore one of our outdoor adventures, dive into our history, or be entertained by one of our shows, Hermann has it all.
Hermann is filled with riveting history and museums covering our regional stories, but also the history of the United States’ expansion west.
Visitors can find activities ranging from a leisurely stroll around the historic district to an exhilarating ride through the forest on a zipline. Several self-guided walking tours also give visitors a chance to learn about the community’s history.
Bikers can enjoy a family outing or challenge themselves with some of the 400 feet of vertical climb offered by Hermann’s famous hills. A protected eight-foot bike lane on the Missouri River Bridge provides safe access to the Katy Trail, the nation’s longest rails-to-trails project. The McKittrick trailhead is just a mile north of Hermann.
Nearby state parks and conservation areas offer hiking, hunting, and camping in Missouri’s forestlands. A nine-hole golf course and several Agritourism businesses, including our wineries, distilleries, and breweries, add to the selection of outdoor adventures in the Hermann area.
