Here is your chance to join the Lewis & Clark Expedition!
Campers to this weeklong Junior Explorer Camp will explore the history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition and their time spent in Illinois at Camp River Dubois. Training as Expedition soldiers, campers will learn frontier skills like fire starting, compass navigation, mending uniforms, journaling, cooking over the fire, plant and animal identification, and much more.
Presentations from period artisans, musket experts, and Seaman the Dog allow campers to interact directly with the past.
Junior Explorer Camp will run June 16-20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Lewis & Clark State Historic Site. This program is intended for campers age 9-11.
