 ck to the 1700s on June 6 and 7 at Fort de Chartres State Historic Site’s a
 nnual Rendezvous, the largest gathering of its kind anywhere in the Midwest
 , attracting many thousands to the site during this 2-day special event.\n\
 nThe Rendezvous features 1700s military units, traditional craft demonstrat
 ions, period music and dancing, black powder shooting events, and cannon fi
 rings – all from the time when France controlled what is now Illinois. Visi
 tors can try their hand at throwing a tomahawk, buy handmade crafts, learn 
 about French kitchen gardens, watch swordsmen duel, taste delicious food, a
 nd much more. This event is hosted by Les Coureurs des Bois de Fort de Char
 tres and sponsored by Les Amis du Fort de Chartres.\n\n\nSaturday, June 6,
