 oemmelsiek Park Astronomy Viewing Area in Defiance, to discover stars and c
 onstellations in the night sky through the largest public-viewing telescope
  in Missouri and other complex telescopes. These educational Friday Night P
 ublic Stargazing events are free and are hosted by members of the Astronomi
 cal Society of Eastern Missouri (ASEM). Stargazing begins 30 minutes past s
 unset and can last into the night; social distancing is required.\n\nDuring
  Friday Night Public Stargazing events, guests ages 7 and up and at least 4
 8-inches tall are invited to climb to the top of the 32-inch Dobsonian tele
 scope to view deep-space objects in the sky, such as distant galaxies, the 
 Great Orion Nebula (M42), globular star clusters, a Supernova Remnant (M1) 
 and so much more! When using this massive and powerful scope, objects in th
 e sky will appear brighter and with more clarity and detail. Other high-pow
 ered telescopes focusing on different constellations and stars in the sky w
 ill be available for viewing as well.\n\nFriday Night Open House (FNOH) at 
 the Broemmelsiek Park Astronomy Area where the club maintains three large t
 elescopes (14-in, 16-in and 32-in)  plus any number of smaller instruments 
 for public viewing.  These events are every Friday night - weather permitti
 ng - and start at the later of 7:00 pm (Winter) or at Sunset (Spring, Summe
 r, Fall) and usually last for 2 hours or so.
