Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical brings the beloved story to life with a fresh score by Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline, or Change) and a clever, hilarious book by David Lindsay-Abaire.
“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek…” So begins the tale of an unlikely hero who teams up with a wisecracking Donkey and a headstrong princess with a secret. Along the way, they encounter a host of fairy tale misfits, a fire-breathing dragon, and a villain with a very short temper. It’s a journey full of heart, humor, and plenty of surprises.
Complete with dazzling costumes, whimsical sets, and larger-than-life puppetry, Shrek The Musical is an irreverent, joyful experience that reminds us all that beauty is in the eye of the ogre.
